I was driving into work that morning. The radio was tuned to a local television station and I was listening, I think, to Diane Sawyer. They had a local New York television station on that was describing that a plane had hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. As she was broadcasting on network television, the 2nd plane hit, and she said “Oh my god, another plane has hit the second tower!”

It seemed so surreal, that it reminded of the stories I have heard about when Orson Welles went onto the radio and read his story of “War of the Worlds” and scared America so many years ago (and I did think that thought that day). I just thought it couldn’t possibly be true. I got to work, went into my office, and none of the people had heard anything, other than that one tower had been hit. I told them to turn on the radios, because another plane had hit, and now the radio was saying it was a terrorist attack.

Our cafeteria has a large screen TV, so I immediately went there to see if I could learn anything else. When the news came on that the Pentagon had been attacked, and a hijacked plane had crashed in Pennsylvania, I called my teenage daughter and told her to stay home, that I didn’t know what was going on, but she might have to go to the basement. I was scared, confused and really didn’t know what was going on with so many stories of attacks coming in.

Later that day, a group of us that had been watching the TV went off by ourselves and had a group prayer. With feeling so helpless and vulnerable, it felt somewhat comforting to be in a group and giving our feelings to God, and asking Him to help those in the attacks, as well as helping us in whatever way He could.

It’s been six months. I still get a lot of tears in my eyes when I read or think about that day, and I didn’t even have anyone I knew that was directly affected by the attacks. Or can it be stated that every American, and many, many others around the world, were directly affected in one way or another??

I was going to work on September 11, we were on our way to work at a womans house, on the way we stopped for coffee, they had the television on in this little coffee shop. on the tv, there was a picture of a building on fire, The channel was CNN, under the picture, it said, "small plane crashes into World Trade Center" I thought at first it was a clip from a movie, or something wierd, It took me a minute to comprehend what I was seeing and this was the real thing, so we got our coffee, and were planning on watching the tv to see what was going on when we got to where we were working, on the way we had the radio on, the next thing we heard was that another plane had hit the second tower, and then the next thing we heard was that the pentagon was hit, this was all within a matter of minutes, all i could remember being in the truck was having a real sinking feeling, and that I wanted to go home to my kids, I was real scared, and Im a 36 year old man, I will never forget where i was that day, or the type of day it was , or anything that happened on that day, my heart goes out to all the people who were affected by this horrible act.

I actually didn’t even know anything happened until me and my sister walked to the bus stop. It just felt like an eerie day. It started in my dream. My dream was about a big city with brite lights everywhere and all of a sudden the lights turned off in the whole city and a fire started and the whole city was dark except from the light of the flames. And that was my dream.
Then, I chose to wear my "New York" tank top I had gotten like a few months before and hadn't decided to where it until that day. When we came to the bus stop, my sisters friend, Jr. told us about it. It was such a shock. His first words where, "We are in WW 3 !!!" Heheh, it was a weird day. God bless the victims families of 9/11.

When I found out about the attacks on the World Trade center I was walking down the English hallway of our school. An aquaintence of mine was running down the hallway saying "A plane just flew into the WTC and into the pentagon. I imeadeatly went downstairs to the computer lab to find my teacher and tell him. When I was in the lab I saw two of my friends and told them what was going on. They believed me about the WTC but didnt believe that the Pentagon had also been hit. They convinced me that I was wrong saying "They are in two totaly different areas" sure my aquaintence could have been wrong, but I wanted to for myself, so I Turned to the internet. That's whent i saw the terror that was happening. I immeadeatly found my National HOnor Society instructor and we organized a pop can drive that raised over $5,000 for the Red Cross. The plans were made by 10:30 on 9/11 and that Saturday our drive proved to be a success.

I was snoozing away when my roomate busts into my room and starts ranting and raving about a terrorist attack. My mind too like 5 minutes to figure out what he was saying
