I am a freshman in a brand new high school. I remember the news as clear as anything. I went to my study hall class, and there was my teacher trying to tune a TV with the teacher next door. The school is brand new, as i said, so the TVs were not installed yet. I asked why the urgency to tune the TV and radio, and they told me that Palestinian terrorists had crashed two planes into the World Trade Center.I was reminded of Israel's violence. I remember my 7th grade teacher saying a paper clip gets good reception for TVs so i did that. I stuck a paper clip on the back of the TV.

We were watching NBC as the towers came crashing down. Then, we went to a pre-scheduled club fair. Radios were on full blast. This was when the FAA grounded and diverted every plane in the sky with some unaccounted for. I thouhg "some unaccounted for? what?" talks of nuclear war were everywhere. I remember that morning.

I'LL NEVER FORGET WHERE I WAS ON SEPT. 11TH. I WOKE UP THAT MORNING AT 8:30AM FROM WORKING 2ND SHIFT THE NIGHT BEFORE. I FLIPPED THE T.V. ON TO LEARN THAT KATIE CURRIC TELECASTING THAT A PLANE HAD HIT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. I THOUGHT IT WAS A SMALL PLANE LIKE A CESNA OR SMALLER--WELL IT TURNED OUT TO BE A VERY LARGE PLANE. I CALLED MY MOTHER AND TOLD HER TO PUT THE NEWS ON AND WE SAT THERE LOOKING ON (NEWSSTATIONS STILL COVERING THE FIRST FATALITY WITH THEIR CAMERAS) TIL FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER I HEAR KATIE CURRIC SAY "WAIT WE SEE ANOTHER PLANE HEADING THIS WAY" THEN--BAM! A HUGE EXPLOSION AS ANOTHER PLANE HAD CRASHED INTO THE OTHER BUILDING. I KNEW THEN JUST LIKE EVERYONE IN THE WORLD KNEW THAT THIS WASNT AN ACCIDENT BUT A TERRIST ACT. 5 MINUTES LATER A PLANE HIT THE PENTAGON-I WAS IN DISBELIEF!! WAS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING TO AMERICA? I ASKED. AS THE TWIN TOWERS CAME DOWN I FELT NUMB I THINK I HAD AN OUTERBODY EXPERIENCE, IT WAS LIKE I WAS WATCHING A FICTICIOUS MOVIE. I STILL CANT BELIEVE OUR NATION WENT THROUGH THIS TRAGIC SITUATION AS I TYPE THIS LETTER ON DEC 31ST 2001. OUR NATION IS STILL AT WAR TRYING TO PUT CLOSURE ON TERRORISM AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 4 MONTHS.. I WENT TO WORK THAT NIGHT ON THE 9TH OF SEPTEMBER AND PEOPLE WERE WALKING AROUND LIKE ZOMBIES THEIR MINDS ON ONLY ONE THING AT THE TIME. RADIOS WERE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY--PRESIDENT BUSH ADDRESSING THE NATION, TELLING US TO BE STRONG AMERICANS AND THAT JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED.I CAME HOME THAT NIGHT AT 11:00 PM AND TUNED INTO THE NEWS. THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE HOLDING SIGNS OF THEIR LOVED ONES ASKING AMERICA IF THEY HAD SEEN THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE MISSING, I COULDNT STOP WEEPING, IT HAD HIT ME THAT THIS WAS REAL AND NOT A NIGHTMARE OF A DREAM. I REALLY HOPE THAT THE UNITED STATES BRINGS OSAMA BIN LADEN TO JUSTICE FOR THIS HORRIBLE ACT AGAINST HUMANITY.WE ARE SLOWLY GETTING OUR LIVES BACK TO SOME NORMALSY, AND OUR NATION WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AS FAR AS HAVING THE FREEDOM WE ONCE HAD.

I walked into my French class and my teacher had the television on. I asked her what was going on and she said she had no idea. The whole class sat glued to the TV until the guy behind me tapped me on the shoulder and told me some place in New York had been bombed. I had a bit of a panic attack after that until about five minutes later our principal came on the intercom. He told us the World Trade Center had been bombed.

Next thing everyone knew, the internet and cable were cut off. I later found out this was when people were jumping out of the fiery buildings. We had a very short French lesson that day and talked about what had happened for the rest of the period.

Then the bell rang and I went off to Science in a daze. What bothered me immensely was that some people were totally oblivious to the fact that this would change everyone's lives forever. I spent the rest of the day explaining to people who didn't understand what the whole thing meant.

It's such a sad thing that happened.... I know that's a huge understatement, but there is no word for the amount of pain and suffering on that day. God bless America.

I was at home sleeping when I was awoke by the sound of the reporters hollering on TV. I had fell asleep the night before watching the news about Gary Condit.
When I had woke up only the first plane had hit but I instantly knew that something was wrong. I started to look out all the windows to make sure we were not all being attacked. A few minutes later the second plane had hit and then the news of all air traffic being halted and then hearing about of the other 2 attacks. It all had happened so fast that it was all very hard to register. It just didnt sense.
It was very hard to believe something so tragic could happen.

All my thoughts, all my feelings..And the slow resolve~ "This is Real"

A tribute to all those that were there, that have lost, how "small" our lives are.. And blessing, love and prayers for the Hero's,, the angels.. those that have lost,, and to the families and friends.

So Far..Far Away...

Beautiful Tuesday, The sun shining bright,
Soft shades of blue, filling the sky.
Soft gentle breeze, so float the clouds
The rustle of leaves, in the trees up above.

So Far ... So far away is my mind.

Screams, so shrill they fill the air
along with the black where the blue had once been
the crashes, the screaming, the fire & blood,
a city in shock,.oh beautiful mourn.

So Far... far away

Green grasses dancing, the horses they graze.
The cattle look like statues across the way.
So peaceful, so quiet..the temperature just right.
A drive to town, then to school, the day just starts.

so far... so far away, the rest of the world;.

A scared child wails, frantic mothers cry
A noble fire fighter tries to save lives.
The sky comes down, thunderous heaps
Blackened the sky, the world ,,under siege..

So far,, far away

The voice on the radio..
This is the news?..Another attack
Those countries at war, seems for so long
The innocent lives, living with war in everyday life..

So far.. So far away...

I stare at the box, thats producing the sound,
the voice, says " New York",
not foreign land
in disbelief, I stand and I stare,
hot tears sting my eyes, as they roll down my face,
I am feeling,, before my mind catches up
This can't be real, what that voice had just said,

So far... So far away.... So Touched my Heart

So far... So far away..Now it seems real.
The Terror, the pain, the anguish they feel..
So Far.. far awary, To far to be of much help,
I send my love, and I send too my prayers
I send my blood... I shed my tears..

So Far... So Far away...

The facades of what worries from everyday life
The simple of blue skies or clouds floating by
The children that play on a swing in the park
The freedom we have, the sun or the stars
The little things so precious,, within our reach,
we can let get to far, to far from our hearts.

So Far... So far away ... our hearts
D.Enise copyright 2001

Reach out ..to someone & give from your heart
Smile at a stranger,
Laugh with a friend.
Hug your own child..
what ever the time,
To the man you call husband,
The woman you call wife..

Look to your worker, or
look to your boss..
appreciate the flower, just outside of the door.
They are not far.. not out of our reach,,
they are, in front of our eyes,
Not to far to touch
for you to reach out,
give them the love ,
thats inside of your heart..
before they are..

To far... To Far Away

To All that were there, or all that still are..To all the families and freinds of those that are lost, who's lives are forever changed.. and to the Hero's. of today, our Military and their families..
My heart and prayers are with you all.
God Bless America.. and let her be safe, and bring her healing..

May angels wrap their wings around you, and help you to heal.
May you find some comfort
in the love were all sending your way
from all the hearts across all the lands.
And may some peace come to you from Heaven Above.

To all of the Hero's.
The Brave unselfish souls
Giving their efforts, without thoughts
for themselves.

You are all bright stars
You shine through the night
Guardian Angels
Battling this fight
Though we can not be there
In our physical forms
Our hearts are with you
our prayers will go on
