I will never forget that morning. I had been hanging ot with some old friends and we had not been together since high school that summer graduation. On September 10 we went all over town. We watched videos at a friends house and road out to Denny's where we met some new guys who quickly ended up sitting in the booth with us. One who I will never forget was named Steve and he showed us his art work. By the time we left Denny's it was Sept. 11 at about 2:30 a.m. We went back to my friends house and watched another movie. Then I was dragged out of the house at about 5:30 a.m. for an early breakfast. We finally got back to Lauren's around 7 a.m. where we went to bed. About 2 hours later all five of us awoke by a call from my mom. She told us to turn on the T.V. We watched in shock as the towers began to fall to the groud and as we watched people jump to their deaths. The incident changed all of us forever. It was so wierd how God brought us five together that night I will never understand why he chose us five out of all the friends we hadin highschool, but I will forever thank him for it. Lana

I was at work when someone said a plane hit one of the towers of the World Trade Center. My first reaction was "It must have been some guy in a private single engine plane that hit the building, similar to a bug hitting the wind shield of a car". A while later someone said another plane hit the other tower, this time they said it was an air liner, thats when I thought this must be terrorists. Soon after that someone said the Pentagon was hit. We all scrambled to get a TV set to watch. All we had were tv's for viewing safety videos. We made a makeshift antena, and we got Dan Rather explaining what was going on. The video of the 2nd jet hit the tower came on. It was like watching a video game. Its still almost unbelievable that it happened.

I run my newspaper's website. I was walking in the door when the first plane hit. I didn't think very much of it, truth be told. Not much was known at first. So I put what little information I had on the website and went in to watch the unfolding events on TV in the conference room.

I watched as the second plane hit. I watched them burn, watched them fall. I put up as much news as I could, when I could. You can blame the media for oversaturation, if you want, but i think most of the nation wanted, needed to watch this on TV.

I'LL NEVER FORGET WHERE I WAS ON SEPT. 11TH. I WOKE UP THAT MORNING AT 8:30AM FROM WORKING 2ND SHIFT THE NIGHT BEFORE. I FLIPPED THE T.V. ON TO LEARN THAT KATIE CURRIC TELECASTING THAT A PLANE HAD HIT THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. I THOUGHT IT WAS A SMALL PLANE LIKE A CESNA OR SMALLER--WELL IT TURNED OUT TO BE A VERY LARGE PLANE. I CALLED MY MOTHER AND TOLD HER TO PUT THE NEWS ON AND WE SAT THERE LOOKING ON (NEWSSTATIONS STILL COVERING THE FIRST FATALITY WITH THEIR CAMERAS) TIL FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER I HEAR KATIE CURRIC SAY "WAIT WE SEE ANOTHER PLANE HEADING THIS WAY" THEN--BAM! A HUGE EXPLOSION AS ANOTHER PLANE HAD CRASHED INTO THE OTHER BUILDING. I KNEW THEN JUST LIKE EVERYONE IN THE WORLD KNEW THAT THIS WASNT AN ACCIDENT BUT A TERRIST ACT. 5 MINUTES LATER A PLANE HIT THE PENTAGON-I WAS IN DISBELIEF!! WAS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING TO AMERICA? I ASKED. AS THE TWIN TOWERS CAME DOWN I FELT NUMB I THINK I HAD AN OUTERBODY EXPERIENCE, IT WAS LIKE I WAS WATCHING A FICTICIOUS MOVIE. I STILL CANT BELIEVE OUR NATION WENT THROUGH THIS TRAGIC SITUATION AS I TYPE THIS LETTER ON DEC 31ST 2001. OUR NATION IS STILL AT WAR TRYING TO PUT CLOSURE ON TERRORISM AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 4 MONTHS.. I WENT TO WORK THAT NIGHT ON THE 9TH OF SEPTEMBER AND PEOPLE WERE WALKING AROUND LIKE ZOMBIES THEIR MINDS ON ONLY ONE THING AT THE TIME. RADIOS WERE HEARD THROUGHOUT THE FACILITY--PRESIDENT BUSH ADDRESSING THE NATION, TELLING US TO BE STRONG AMERICANS AND THAT JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED.I CAME HOME THAT NIGHT AT 11:00 PM AND TUNED INTO THE NEWS. THERE WERE MANY PEOPLE HOLDING SIGNS OF THEIR LOVED ONES ASKING AMERICA IF THEY HAD SEEN THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE MISSING, I COULDNT STOP WEEPING, IT HAD HIT ME THAT THIS WAS REAL AND NOT A NIGHTMARE OF A DREAM. I REALLY HOPE THAT THE UNITED STATES BRINGS OSAMA BIN LADEN TO JUSTICE FOR THIS HORRIBLE ACT AGAINST HUMANITY.WE ARE SLOWLY GETTING OUR LIVES BACK TO SOME NORMALSY, AND OUR NATION WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AS FAR AS HAVING THE FREEDOM WE ONCE HAD.
