Last year, September 11, 2001, I was at school taking my SAT’s. My parents were really worried about my sister and I safety. Since they had so much concern, my dad had left work and came to pick up me n my sister white we were taking a huge test. When we got home my grandma had been there watching the news. We were just all in amazement when we all heard that the twin towers were gone. We were trying to call our relatives who live in New York, but the call would not go through. Then a few hours later we had heard that my auntie and grandpa could see the actual twin towers fall. Everyone in my family was safe. When my mom came home, she was so glad that we were all ok. At dinner we were all on the phone calling our loved ones. Also at dinner time, we prayed before we ate… for the victims who were in the tragedy.

I was at home feeling sick when I decide to check my e-mail. I log on and there's this huge thing about how the towers have crashed down into the streets of nyc. I couldn't believe it. At first I thought some hackers logged into my isp and hacked the server. so then I go to the tv, turn on the news- sure enough this wasn't a joke. this was real. then the phone rings. my brother says he's coming over with my nephew. they show up and we drink coffee and sit in front of the tv mesmerized as my six year old nephew plays as if nothing has changed. It was a crazy feeling. Just thinking how much I love new york city, I couldn't believe this was happening right in the heart of the city. One of my favorite movies Arthur with Dudley Moore, and i just kept hearing that song play in my head.
If you get lost between the moon and new york city.... I know it's crazy ..but it's true.. if you get lost between the moon and new york city .. the best that you can do is fall in love.
We are stronger now and we will never forget.

ON SEPT. 11 ,2001 FOR ME IT WAS A REGULAR DAY OF SCHOOL IN MY 1ST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. MY MOM JUST HAD SURGERY AND KEEPING HER LEG UP IN THE LAZY BOY. AS I WALKED OUT OF MY ROOM I SAW HER MOUTH WIDE OPEN IN SHOCK. I WALKED AROUND THE CORNER AND SAW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I REALLY COULDNT BELIVE THAT THIS THING COULD OF HAPPENED TO AMERICA . THAT SCHOOL DAY WAS FAR BEYOND REGULAR. I SAW PEOPLE JUMPING OUT OF BUILDINGS AND I REALLY COULD THINK HOW PEOPLE THOUGHT KNOWING THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DIE! I JUST PRAY FOR ALL THOSE FAMILY THAT LOST A LOVED ONE

I was at work, we were listening to the radio. We heard that a plane had crashed into the world trade center. Then a few minutes later they said that another plane had crashed into it. Then we heard about the Pentagon. We didn't know what the hell was going on. A person I work with looked at his pager and it had '911' on it. He commented how appropriate it was. I called my sister, woke her up and told her to turn on the tv. I was in shock, I couldn't believe that something like this could happen here in the USA. That kind of stuff doesn't happen here. It's been a year today and I still can't believe that it actually happened. All the people who died.
We will never forget.

I woke up to my mother leaving a message on my voice mail about planes going into the World Trade Center. It was only about 6 a.m. pacific time and I was still in a sleepy haze when I turned on CNN, but the sight of the two buildings- which I had peered up at in awe when I was in NY a few years ago- on fire startled me into reality. I didn't leave my television for three days. I remember finding out that one woman who died on one of the planes was the mother of actor Oz Perkins. I had just interviewed Oz at the premiere of his film "Legally Blonde" a month earlier, and his mom was with him that night. She was gorgeous, smiling and seemed very proud of him. It was so sad to realize she was now gone and they would miss out on so much. There are so many sad stories like that one, and it never gets any easier to hear.
