I was at home, asleep. My mother, who was 71 at the time lived with me, and I remember her talking to my sister on the phone in her room. Then I heard the tv go on in there, and she screamed and called me in. I assumed it was some normal accident on the highway or something. I can remember being slighlty ticked that my mom was freaking out over something so small. But I turned the corner into her room and saw this second plane slam into the second tower, and I fell to my knees and I was in compleat shock. She then told me all of what was going on, and I was scared. I was honest to God scared. I did not know if some navy was sitting off our coast, or what. Terrorism never crossed my mind until I had been watching it for 10 or 15 minutes, and then it became all to real, and close. My office called and said everybody stay home, and watch the news for information if we needed to go someplace. Being in Las Vegas, NV, we have a air base, we have all these landmarks, we have Hoover Damn, and we were scared that we were next. My mother and I stayed up all night watching CNN. My mother was angry because she could remember Pearl Harbor very well since she grew up on military bases as a child during WW2, and on the night of 9/11 I held her as she cried. She told me she didn't want to be here to see another 9/11 since it was also my fathers birthday, and she is nto here to see it. She died on 9/3. I don't grieve for her, I grieve for us who have to continue to live in this sick world where evil lurks and the innocent die.

That morning I had just got home from work, the night shift, it was my normal routine to watch the news before going to bed. I went into the room, turned on the television, and started getting ready for bed. They were talking about the weather, then came on with breaking news about the first plane in the towers. They were on a call with a lady that had seen what happened, them and me thinking it was an accident, as they were talking to the lady, and had a live shot of the towers...there went the second plane. I was glued to the television..confused, not knowing what to think..then the pentagon. Now I was getting scared..what was happening...I called my mom, we agreed to spend the day together...whatever was happening, we were going to be together. Between the t.v. and radio, we were glued all day sometimes crying for fear, crying for the people lost, then we were angry. And to this day we are still angry, but are so proud of how this country has pulled together to be united, and so patriotic. God Bless America and all who call this Home!!

I was getting ready for school. I usually watch the news when I get ready, and this morning was like no other. The news cut away to a "breaking story" in New York, and showed a live picture of the first tower burning. It didn't hit me that this was something serious. I just thought it was an accidental thing; some plane lost control and hit the tower. I turned around to pick something up behind me and just as I did, my sister yelled, "Oh my God!" I turned back around in time to see the second plane swoop into the second tower. That's when I knew this wasn't accidental. The whole day was a mess. Teachers were trying to get news channels on the TV's, because the school had shut down the cable as not to upset anyone. Kids who had family in the Trade Centers were crying and being pulled out of class. I remember my sister coming up to me after 2nd period, crying, saying, "Oh my God, the towers are gone. The collapsed, they're gone." We had a banquet that night, and all the TV's in the restaraunt had news playing. Let me just say, watching people jump out of the Trade Centers when trying to eat is not a pleasant thing to do.

9/11 affected me greatly, and I'll never forget that horrid day. I pray all the time for the people lost and their families.

God Bless America.

...i live on the west coast and i could not sleep, i turned to the CBS news thinking that would put me to sleep, and the next thing i know they are talking about a plane that hit the World Trade Center, the last thing that on my mind was terrorism, i thought that it was just a plane crash, i felt sorry for those on board... Bryant Gumble is talking to a lady that witnessed the first crash and i see a plane hits the other tower, my mouth dropped and it stayed that way for days maybe even weeks...i then watched another news organization, they were talking to a man at the Pentagon and there was a crash there while he was on the air...at this point i was frantic because i didnt know if where i lived was next...i didnt go to my morning classes that day but i did have to go to my afternoon one because of an exam...the drive there was spent with me looking out of the window to see if something wwas coming my way...i cautiously went into the university because it is near the airport and i was so afraid...i took my test but i mostly sat there still dazed...i still hurt for those that died, the family members and all of the children that lost parents-----> RIP

To be real honset...I had the day off work, so I was sound asleep. My wife came - well more like burst - in, she had "the look" on her face - the kind you never really want to see.

I sat up and looked at her, "what is it?" - She didn't answer , kinda' a real errie silence, I knew it was bad.

I rushed downstairs just in time to see a "recap" on the news - It was one of those deeply errie, real deep feelings.

The kind WE DON'T want again!
